Quick Training Tips

Keep them short! 5 to 10 minutes is ideal. Puppies have short attention spans. It's better to have three 5-minute sessions a day than one 15-minute session where your dog gets bored.
Find their currency! Some dogs prefer toys, a game of tug, or simply praise and affection. Also, try higher value treats like plain boiled chicken or cheese for difficult tasks.
Never! "You can't teach an old dog new tricks" is a myth. Older dogs often have better focus than puppies. Be patient, as unlearning old habits might take a little longer than learning new ones.
